The high-density mobile shelving installed at the Criss Library at the University of Nebraska, Omaha has freed up floor space and helped staff accommodate a variety of storage needs.
The powered mobile shelving system accommodates book storage through the use of flexible cantilever shelving units. The library also stores files in existing vertical filing cabinets that were placed on larger mobile carriages.
“For us, the primary advantage has been the space savings and the fact that we really haven’t had to do anything at all in terms of the custom shelving; it is very reliable,” said Stephen Shorb, Dean of the Criss Library.
